More pressing issues confronting Nigerians than Wike, Fubara crisis —Onuesoke

CITIZENS COMPASS —As the rift between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and
the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, grows deeper, a Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has described this as a mere distraction to Nigerians.

Fielding questions from journalists at Asaba International Airport, Asaba, Delta State, on Monday, January 8, 2024, he said Nigerians have more pressing issues to ponder over than a mere rift between two friends

The former Delta State gubernatorial aspirant wants Fubara and Wike to publicly tell Nigerians why they suddenly turned against each other when both of them conspired against their political party (PDP) during the 2023 elections.

Onuesoke wondered in whose interest are the ‘jolly good friends’ publicly washing their dirty linen when many Nigerians can no longer maje ends meet due to the hardship the ruling All Peoples Congress(APC) has imposed on them.

He urged Nigerians to be more focused than to be concerned with the Fubar/Wike crisis which has no basis.

He said “People are dying of hunger, there is no fuel, no food, no drugs in hospitals and insecurity has enveloped the whole country.
“Instead of Nigerians concentrating on how to move Nigeria forward, they are busy wasting their energy on two persons who are fighting for power in Rivers State.

“Let us leave Rivers State alone and focus on our various states and how to take Nigerians out of the present hardship.

“What is so special about Rivers state? What is happening in Rivers State that is not happening in other states in Nigeria?

“Is there any state that does not have the peculiarity of Rivers’ problem? All the states have their personal problems, so, what is the noise about Rivers State? Why are we stressing ourselves about APC, Wike and Fubara and turning them to celebrities?

“Which state does not have such problems? Some decided to bury their own problems while others leave theirs as it is.

“There are national issues, insecurity, inflation and other problems in the country, so we should stop focusing on Rivers state,” he said.
