CITIZENS COMPASS— It was a narrow escape to many passengers aboard a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), in Lagos State as one of the buses went up in flames in Mile 12 area along Ikorodu Road.
The inferno was noticed while the bus was in motion on the Mile 12 Bridge.
The early morning incident caused panic as commuters, traders and road users scampered for safety.
According to eyewitnesses’ accounts, the passengers of the ill-fated bus hurriedly disembarked from the bus as emergency responders moved into action.
Traffic was slightly affected in the axis before the remains of the bus were removed from the scene.
The cause of the fire outbreak could not be established.
