NURTW Chieftain dies of gunshots

CITIZENS COMPASS— The Organising Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) ,Toba Ajiboye has reportedly died.

The NURTW chieftain died following the injuries he sustained after he was shot by unknown gunmen.

The incident occurred on Sunday night and Toba was rushed to the hospital for medical attention unfortunately he did not survive it.

His death has sent shockwaves through the transport union and the wider Lagos community, with many describing him as a committed union leader whose sudden loss will be deeply felt. The incident has also raised fresh concerns over the growing wave of violent attacks and insecurity, prompting calls for stronger measures to protect lives and bring perpetrators to justice.

As of now, the motive behind the attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been officially announced. Security agencies are expected to intensify investigations to uncover those responsible and determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.

The tragic killing has reignited public demands for a thorough investigation, with many Nigerians urging the authorities to act swiftly and ensure that those behind the attack are identified and prosecuted.
