Obi defeats Tinubu in Lagos

CITIZENS COMPASS– THE presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has defeated the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

This was based on the collation of results at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Lagos State collation centre in Yaba.

Obi won nine local government areas of the state.

The LGAs are Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, Somolu, Ojo and Alimosho

Tinubu won in Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Surulere.

Breakdown

LP: 582, 454

APC: 572, 606

This is the second time an opposition party is winning Lagos in the Presidential election, after 2011 where PDP had 1.2m votes vs 427,000 for the ruling ACN.
