CITIZENS COMPASS— The Ogun State Government over the weekend distributed operational vehicles to 20 Permanent Secretaries as part of efforts to strengthen policy implementation, improve inter-agency coordination, and enhance service delivery across the state.
Speaking during the distribution exercise on behalf of Governor Dapo Abiodun, the immediate past Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, described mobility as a critical component of effective governance and efficient public administration.
According to him, government operations require constant engagement, collaboration among agencies, and regular monitoring to ensure smooth implementation of policies and programmes.
“There is a strong connection between policy formulation and actualisation; therefore, mobility is a basic and essential part of the process,” he said.
Onasanya urged the Permanent Secretaries to remain committed to their responsibilities as key drivers of government operations across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, stressing the need for diligence, dedication, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He noted that the commitment of the state’s top civil servants to the ISEYA developmental agenda of the Abiodun administration would continue to produce remarkable results for Ogun State.
The former Head of Service also charged the recipients not to relent in sustaining Ogun State’s reputation as a leading state in public service excellence, urging them to uphold the values of hard work, integrity, and efficient service delivery.
He commended Governor Abiodun for his purposeful leadership and continued investment in providing the civil service with the necessary tools to perform effectively.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Dr. Augustine Oyesanwen of the Ministry of Forestry, Mrs. Funmi Soyoye-Baker of the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Olalekan Taiwo, Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Treasury, and Engr. Kehinde Akintomiwa of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, appreciated the governor for the gesture.
They said the operational vehicles would enhance productivity and facilitate more effective discharge of their duties, while assuring the government of their continued commitment to excellent service delivery and effective implementation of government policies.
