One dies, three injured as trucks explode in Lagos

CITIZENS COMPASS —A gas explosion that emanated from three vehicles has claimed the life of one person and injured three others in Lagos.

The explosion occurred at GM Julee gas station, Anibaba in Iba New Site, by Iyana School-Isashi Road, Iba at about 10p.m on Tuesday.

The Director, of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Magaret Adeseye confirmed the incident to newsmen.
She said the fire involved three LPG gas trucks of different storage capacities, and a security post in the plant premises.

According to her, it emanated from one of the trucks, while discharging its contents into the plant surface storage tank before it burst into flames.
She said, “A male adult suffered severe burns beyond recognition in one of the trucks and was recovered dead.

“While three other male adults were reportedly rescued with varying degrees of burn injuries and taken to a nearby hospital on the arrival of the state emergency responders.”

“Other rescue teathatclude men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, and Nigeria Police among others.”
