He urged the agency to intensify sensitisation efforts to keep youth away from drugs.

The Chairman expressed concern that drug abuse was on the rise and urged security operatives to step up efforts to reduce the menace.

“It is unfortunate that this is on the increase on a daily basis, our security operatives are urged to step up the game to reduce the menace of drug abuse,” Hon. Kareem said, adding that the Council would support NDLEA’s initiatives to enlighten youth and children in primary and secondary schools about the dangers of drug abuse.

ACN Balogun commended the Council for its efforts in achieving a feat in 100 days in office and urged more sensitization for youth to stay away from drugs.

The Council Manager, Mr Salam Adeyemi also commended the NDLEA for its efforts and urged more programmes to be initiated for the youth to ward off drug abuse.

The Vice Chairman, Hon. Moses Olabisi Aina appreciated the visit and expressed confidence that the Council would partner with NDLEA to address the issue of drug abuse, specifically through joint community outreach programs and workshops in schools.

The partnership is expected to enhance the Council’s efforts in promoting a drug-free community, with NDLEA providing expertise and resources to support the initiative.
