CITIZENS COMPASS— Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State has kicked off the construction of 456m Kareem Road in the area.
The Council Chairman of Oto-Awori, Kareem Azeez Abiodun, on Monday, visited the site for an On-the-Spot assessment.
The Public Affairs Unit of the Council disclosed this in a statement which reads: The construction of the 456m Kareem Road with a 912m drainage system has commenced in Shibiri. Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun, Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori LCDA inspected the site today, Easter Monday, to mark the start of the project, promising improved infrastructure and a better quality of life for residents.
This project is part of Oto-Awori LCDA’s commitment to enhancing the community’s infrastructure and addressing long-standing challenges. The new road, featuring interlocking stones and covered drains, will improve mobility, reduce flooding and alleviate traffic congestion at Shibiri Bus Stop, making the area more livable. The road will also boast modern accessories, including street lights to provide security at night.
Haykay Multiservices Nigeria Limited has begun work on the project, with a six-month construction duration. Residents can expect significant improvements in the coming months.
