CITIZENS COMPASS— An Anambra State-based pastor, Harrison Charles, has allegedly enticed 75 women taking them.under his roof.

Charles is the founder of Day Spring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha area of Anambra State.

Nemesis however caught up with him as he is currently under interrogation owing to his arrest.

Security operatives in the State alleged that he made the 75 married women to abandon their husbands and join his household.

A viral video suggests that the cleric has gathered 11 children so far.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, confirmed the arrest.

He said the pastor was arrested in accordance with the Anambra Homeland Law of 2025.

According to the Commissioner: “The law is not against religion and shouldn’t be,” Mefor said. “In fact, it aims to sanitize both religious practice and traditional worship now filled with fake people who hide under religion and traditional worship to deceive our people, particularly the youths”

“They have dealt with our youths, making them believe that they can make money without work (Oke Ite and Odeshi) – bullets, rituals and amulets. The bullet proof amulets they make for criminals have also given them Dutch courage and many youths have been killed confronting our security forces while relying on these fake fetish materials. We believe that this is also the foundation for ritual killings we find around, from time to time.

The state government has zero tolerance for “crime and criminality such as criminal idolatry and fake miracles-merchants. They are rogues confusing and fleecing our people.

“The said pastor will have his day in court after investigations. So, if he believes his rights have been violated, he will soon have a judge to complain to for remedy. Wherever there is an injury, there is a remedy.”

“But I can assure you that suspects under custody are kept under the best possible conditions. No suspect under us has ever complained of violations of their fundamental human rights”.
