Police arrest suspect, recover pistol during stop-and-search operation in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS—The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Dare Shogaolu ‘m’, aged 30, popularly known as “Super M” during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area of the State.
The Police also recovered a locally made pistol during the operation which took place on March 5, 2026, at about 10:00pm. Spokesperson for the Command, Abimbola Adebisi, who disclosed this in a statement said: the operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of Mushin Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), while on routine patrol along LUTH Road axis, Mushin, accosted a suspicious-looking man carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag. A search conducted on the bag led to the recovery of one (1) locally made pistol. Other items recovered from him include one black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect has been involved in some criminal activities within the area and has allegedly been responsible for causing disturbances in the community. The suspect is currently in Police custody while investigation is ongoing. Efforts are also being intensified to apprehend other members of his criminal group.
