CITIZENS COMPASS— Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command on Friday, said they have arrested a suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity cult group and recovered one locally made single-barrel pistol in Mushin.
Following credible information on cult-related activities at Ogunmokun Under-Bridge, Mushin, operatives immediately mobilised a surveillance team to the area and arrested one Segun Alani, ‘m’, aged 24 years. A search of the bag in his possession led to the recovery of one locally made single-barrel pistol, which was concealed inside the bag. The suspect is currently in Police custody and providing useful information to aid the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, has commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-driven operation. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to disrupting cult-related activities and recovering illegal firearms across Lagos State, while warning cultists and other criminal elements to desist from their activities or face the full wrath of the law.
