How Police arrest three suspects, seize 150 bottles of hard drug in Igbo-Agbowa, Ikorodu

POLICE in Lagos State have burst a shop in Igbo-Agbowa, Ibeshe area of Ikorodu, arrested three suspected drug barons and seized 150 bottles of ‘skuchies’.

The suspects, Francis Friday, Kemi Adeyemo, and Nonso Orji were arrested while conveying the 150 bottles of ‘skuchies’ in a Suzuki minibus (Korope), at about 3am on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Omo-Onile Junction, Igbo-Agbowa.

‘Skuchies’ is an assorted hard drugs, including cannabis sativa, tramadol tablets, codeine, swifnol, among others.

According to residents, Kemi who lives in Lajo inside Olu-Odo but sells assorted drinks in the Igbo-Agbowa shop but little did residents know that this was a cover up to deal on hard drugs.

A resident, Adewale Onigbinde who narrated the scenario to Citizens Compass said that Francis and Nonso were conveying the items to Kemi’s shop in the bus when they were intercepted by the vigilance team in the area.

“The vigilance team put a phone call to the traditional leader of the community who rushed to the scene.

“The Ipakodo Division was thereafter contacted and the suspects were handed over to them while Kemi was also invited to the scene,” He said.

Spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin who disclosed this in his tweets on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, said, ” It started with reasonable suspicion, then search. Francis Friday ‘m’ aged 30; Kemi Adeyemo ‘f’ aged 35 years; and Nonso Orji ‘m’ aged 22, were arrested while conveying 150 bottles of skuchies in a Suzuki minibus at Igbo Agowa, Ikorodu.

“Investigation is ongoing. Say Say no to drugs!”

At press time, residents said they were extra ordinarily vigilant.
