CITIZENS COMPASS— Police in Mowe area of Ogun State have arrested a man following the death of a 38-year-old university graduate, Mike Oje who was allegedly beaten to death by his neighbour.
Oje was accused of hugging and playing with the neighbour’s three-year-old child.
However, the suspect, Edebiri Temitope, ‘M’, aged 43 years, has been arrested in connection with the death.
Edebiri has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
The suspect, who was said to have been infuriated by what he described as Mike’s “rough play”, grabbed a bamboo stick, and repeatedly struck him until he collapsed and died.
Mike holds a degree in Guidance and Counselling.
Spokesperson for the Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, on Saturday, confirmed the incident in a statement.
