Police nab traffic robbers at Ketu/Mile 12

CITIZENS COMPASS– POLICE in Lagos have arrested seven suspected traffic robbers terrorising Ketu, Kosofe and Mike 12 area of Lagos.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command disclosed this on his verified social media handles on Friday, October 14, 2022.

He said the suspects were caught red handed at about 1100hrs on Thursday.

“Yesterday, at about 1100hrs, five traffic robbers swooped on a motorist at Kosofe bus stop along Ikorodu Road. Ketu Division’s patrol team arrested them all, leading to the arrest of two others. Suspects range between 18 and 28 years old. Investigation is ongoing.”

The arrest has generated reactions from some Nigerians who called on the Police to continue to beam their searchlight in the axis.

One Moses Oluwafemi’s tweet reads,
“Well done job . There is more to be done at kosofe bus stop in Ward mile 12, my boys was attack when they want to check the battery terminal head,₦20,000 was collected and mobile phone , most of them have knives to cut person. That day it bad experience.’

SoundHeat said, “From mile 12 down to Ojota peace park. I’m also a victim and they also extort road users too.”

Similarlly, the Spokesperson said four suspected traffic robbers were arrested on Otedola Bridge.

Items recovered were cutlass, dagger and axe.
“”Yesterday, at about 0130hrs, patrol officers of Alausa Division arrested four traffic robbers with a cutlass, dagger and axe on Otedola Bridge. They were also found with Toyota and Lexus logos. Investigation is ongoing.”
