Students invite hoodlums to school to retaliate fight

CITIZENS COMPASS —Academic activities were disrupted at Government College Ikot Ansa, Calabar, Rivers State, as some Secondary School Two (SS2) students have eportedly invited hoodlums to the school to retaliate a fight with  their Senior Secondary Three (SS3).

A trending video on social media captured the scene on Friday.

In the amateur footage, the chaotic scenes where students were engaged in a violent clash were captured as the students were seen wielding sticks and metal objects, and throwing punches at one another.

The video captured a tumultuous atmosphere with some students fighting fiercely while others either stood by or ran for safety.

A background voice, believed to be a teacher, was heard shouting out a student’s name, indicating that the student was bleeding, and demanding that the students leave, signaling an abrupt end to the school day’s activities.

The school, situated within close proximity to the Zone 6 Command of the Nigerian Police Force and not far from the Federal Housing Police Division, is now at the center of concerns regarding the infiltration of gang activities into educational institutions.

At press time, Rivers State Police Command was yet to react to the footage.
