Three trappped under 40ft container in Lagos 

LASTMA to the rescue

 

CITIZENS COMPASS —THREE persons on Saturday, August 19, 2023, were rescued aftrr they were trapped in a 40ft container in a multiple accident at Anthony area of Lagos State. 

The urgent intervention of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) rescued the victims of the account which occurred inward Obanikoro area of Lagos.

LASTMA spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq who disclosed this to Citizens Compass on Saturday, said one of its officials, Lawal Hammed Babatunde  ‘Eagle Bravo’ (Zone 11 Anthony) who led the rescue team confirmed that the multiple accident involved a 40ft container, two Toyota Camry cars (KRD 432 JA & APP 43 HN) and a tipper loaded with sand (T 17001LA).

He said, “LASTMA Babatunde confirmed further that those three rescued accident victims were trapped under the 40ft container.

” According to preliminary investigation, the 40ft container truck while on a top speed collided with 3 other vehicles including a tipper fully loaded with sand as a result of brake failure. 

” He disclosed further that those 3 rescued accident victims were immediately taken to nearby Hospital by members of their families.

” LASTMA General Manager, Mr Bolaji Oreagba cautioned motoring public to always ensure that there vehicle are in good condition 

before embarking on any journey both within and outside Lagos.

” Policemen from Ilupeju Police Command supported Lastma officials during the rescue operations.*
