Tinubu’s minister steps down

CITIZENS COMPASS— Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has resigned his appointment.

Tuggar’s resignation was ahead of the March 31 deadline issued to political appointees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed Tuggar’s resignation in a post on his X account on Monday.

The minister reportedly submitted his resignation on Monday and the letter is expected to be read at the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.

The post reads: “The Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, will bid farewell to the Federal Executive Council today as he steps down from his position to pursue the governorship of Bauchi State,”

The Minister is billed to contest the Bauchi gubernatorial election in 2027.
