CITIZENS COMPASS— The Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Monday, ascertained that President Bola Tinubu is currently hospitalised overseas.
Sowore equally announced plans by his party to sue the President and demand impeachment proceedings against him.
Sowore is the publisher of the popular online medium, Sahara Reporters.
The Presidential candidate made the statement on Monday while responding to questions from journalists at the High Court.
He insisted that AAC knew the whereabouts of Mr President who would return to the country after his hospital treatment.
According to him: Well, I know where he is. He’s in the hospital. So I guess when he’s discharged, he’ll return.
But we have taken a position in our party to sue him and the National Assembly to commence his impeachment. And we’re filing the case today, right at the Federal High Court here.
Tinubu’s prolonged stay outside the country has in recent days generated renewed political and legal questions, with opposition figures and lawyers calling for clarification over his absence and the constitutional implications.
