CITIZENS COMPASS— A 100-level student of the Department of Accounting, Yakubu Gowon University formerly known as University of Abuja, Sadiya Usman, has been reported missing.
The female undergraduate was said to be last seen on Tuesday, February 18, 2026.
The University on Friday, called on members of the public to assist in locating her.
Sadiya reportedly left her residence at Kontagora Estate, Gwagwalada, Abuja, at about 8:00 a.m. to sit for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the GST 111 course at the university’s main campus but has not been seen since then.
A statement issued by Dr. Habib Yakoob, the Acting Director of Information and University Relations called on anyone with useful information about her whereabouts to come forward.
It reads, “The University has activated internal safety protocols and is working closely with relevant authorities to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to locate the student promptly and safely.
“The University community is deeply concerned about her safety and appeals for timely information that could assist in her safe return,

A report filed by her guardian said several attempts to reach her have failed, as her phone line has remained unreachable since her disappearance.
