Updates on kidnapped PDP Chair

CITIZENS COMPASS —Days after he was kidnapped along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the Chairman of, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Philip Aivoji, has regained his freedom.

Citizens Compass reported that he was kidnapped alongside other road users around Ogere, Ogun State axis of the expressway.

Ogun State Police Command on the weekend, rescued Nine of the victims after a PDP leader raised the alarm.
The Command said one of the victims later died.

On Monday, January 29, 2024, the spokesperson for the Command, Omolola Odutola in a statement, announced that Aivoji was released in the early morning.

She said this occurred through the spirited efforts of the Command.
“The efforts of Ogun State Police Command paid off as Hon Philip Aivoji (Lagos State PDP Chairman) has finally been released early this morning by the gang of kidnappers who held him captive.

 

“The victim has been reunited with his family. Meanwhile, efforts are in top gear to track down the hoodlums.”
