Woman dies while sharing testimony in church
CITIZENS COMPASS–A new generation church in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State has been thrown into mourning following the death of a member who slumped and died while sharing a testimony in the church.
The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday.
The 55-year old woman was simply identified as Ifeoma.
The late testifier was said to be singing songs of gratitude as she prepared to share her testimony when she suddenly slumped and all efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
According to him, the incident occurred at about 8.48 a.m. on Sunday during the church service in Ejigbo area of Lagos State.
He said that the zonal accountant of the church reported the incident.
According to him, “The accountant reported that during testimony hour in the church, while the service was on, Ifeoma came out singing songs to give her testimony when she suddenly slumped.
He said detectives were detailed to visit the hospital with the complainant.
He added that when the detectives got there, they were told that the husband and family of the deceased had taken the body to her town in Anambra for burial.
