2023: Area Boys impose N500 sticker on transporters to support Tinubu

CITIZENS COMPASS– A viral video which imposes N500 stickers on Lagos transporters allegedly in support of the political ambition of the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has resurfaced online.

The video posted on social media by the human rights campaigner, Rinu Oduala, revealed how some Area Boys were enforcing the use of the sticker on transporters in some parts of Lagos State.

They were seen forcibly pasting the campaign stickers of the presidential candidate on a vehicle while requesting the driver to pay the sum of N500 but the driver was seen resisting this.

The Area Boys said they were officers of the Lagos State Park Management Committee, led by Ahaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo, as they harassed a motorist who refused to purchase the sticker.  “You will have to meet the chairman (MC Oluomo) for questions,” one of the officers said while struggling with the transporter.

The video was accompanied by some words, “criminality, tyranny and fraud.”

“If they ask you about structure, this is the structure of criminality, tyranny and fraud they have in order to win elections,” Ms Oduala tweeted.

Efforts to reach Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya were unsuccessful at press time.

Meanwhile, an aide to the presidential candidate who pleaded anonymity said his master was unaware about the development.
