
45-year-old electrician electrocuted in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS—A 45-year-old electrician was reportedly electrocuted in Shasha area of Lagos State.
The deceased was said to be reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole when the unfortunate incident occurred.
The incident occurred last Sunday, August 10, 2025.
Citizens Compass reports that on noticing the electrocution, the incident attracted sympathisers and rescue operators who rescued him to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Sunday.
It reads, “On 10/08/25 at about 1204hrs, one xxx ‘m’ of Shasha reported that, on same day at about 1130hrs, one 45 year old electrician was electrocuted in Shasha while he was reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole at the aforementioned area. Police “Action: A team of police detectives visited the scene, he was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. Meanwhile, an investigation is in progress.”
