CITIZENS COMPASS– Lagos State Governorship candidate for Labour Party (LP) during the 2023 election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, yesterday, decried the deteriorating living conditions under the present administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said over 17,000 Nigerians have died in various attacks especially in the Southern and Northern parts of Nigeria.
The former governorship candidate said this during a ChannelsTV interview.
He cautioned the federal government about lavish spending.
Among other things, he urged the political opposition to brace up ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Nigeria is now the 10th poorest country in the world, and citizens are grappling with the highest cost of living in over 40 years.”
He also lamented the worsening security situation, claiming that over 10,000 people have died in the North and around 7,000 in the South due to violent attacks and insecurity since Tinubu assumed office.
“You cannot be spending billions on renovating the vice president’s residence when Nigerians are suffering.”
On the newly political coalition movement, he said, “You will hear something in the next few days — we are coming together.”
He took a swipe at the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, accusing him of prioritising self-interest over public service. “Leadership is not about self-preservation; it’s about serving the people,” he said.
