Federal Workers Forum thank Falana, Nigerians as DSS releases Andrew Emelieze

CITIZENS COMPASS—The Federal Workers Forum has extended appreciation to the Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana and members of the public for ensuring the release of its leader, Comrade Andrew Emelieze from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Emelieze was released a few days ago.

The appreciation was contained in a statement released over the weekend and signed by Comrade Andrew Emelieze, National Coordinator, Comrade Itoro Obong, National Secretary and Comrade Ogundele Ayo, Assistant Secretary.

“The Federal Workers Forum would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the members of the public, particularly Barrister Femi Falana(SAN), Barrister Femi Aborishade, Barrister Akinola, and others from Abope Chamber for their unwavering support and legal assistance. We also acknowledge the tireless efforts of all members of civil society, our fellow workers, and citizens of Nigeria who have rallied for the release of Comrade Andrew Emelieze, the National Coordinator of the Federal Workers Forum, from the detention of the Department of State Security Service.

“While we celebrate Comrade Emelieze’s release, we recognize that our struggle is far from over. The oppression and repression faced by workers will not deter us from demanding our legitimate wages, awards, and arrears. The needs and rights of workers must be prioritized by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The current minimum wage is poor and insufficient to support families, especially as citizens grapple with skyrocketing living costs across the nation. We call on the government to urgently address these economic challenges and consider the demands of workers in order to foster a more equitable and just society.

“Together, we will continue to stand firm in our quest for justice, fair compensation, and a better future for all workers in Nigeria.”
