
Teacher found dead in Lagos school
CITIZENS COMPASS—A male teacher, Ezekiel Akano, has been found dead in one of the oldest schools, King’s College on Lagos Island area of Lagos State.
He was found dead in one of the classrooms as the Nigeria Police Force has commenced investigations into the death.
A staffer in the school was said to have discovered the body on Saturday evening while the Vice Principal of the school, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele, reported the matter to the Lagos State Police Command at about 7:40 p.m.
According to him, “Staff members raised an alarm after finding Akano’s body within the school premises at No. 3, Catholic Mission Street.”
Police officers responded quickly, arriving at the school to examine the scene. They took photographs and secured the area for investigation. There were no visible wounds or signs of violence on Mr. Akano’s body during the initial inspection.
The teacher, who was from Oyo State, was later taken to Lagos Island Hospital in Odan. Unfortunately, a doctor confirmed he was already dead when brought in.
His body has been kept at the hospital morgue, and an autopsy will be carried out to confirm the cause of death.
Police authorities have promised to look deeply into the matter. “We are conducting a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident,” they said.
