CITIZENS COMPASS— Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Monday, drummed support for the re-election bid of the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

At a rally held at the Ekiti State Pavilion in Ado Ekiti, where leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered to show support for Oyebanji, Governor Aiyedatiwa said he’s throwing his full weight behind the Ekiti Governor for a second term in office.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also reaffirmed his backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term in office, saying the project for the continuation of the Renewed Hope agenda administration beyond 2027 has begun in the South West.

He described Oyebanji, fondly called BAO, as a visionary leader whose impactful projects and policies are evident across Ekiti state. He noted that Ekiti people are fortunate to have such a committed governor and urged them to give him another term to consolidate on his achievements.

“Ekiti is lucky to have someone like BAO as governor. The developmental strides across the state are visible and commendable. He deserves a second term,” Governor Aiyedatiwa said.

He also charged party members and stakeholders to work tirelessly to ensure a landslide victory for the APC across all 16 local government areas in Ekiti state, drawing a comparison with the 2024 gubernatorial elections in Ondo State, where the APC won all 18 local councils.

On the presidential front, Governor Aiyedatiwa disclosed that all 23 APC-controlled states across the country have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, reaffirming the party’s unity and confidence in his leadership.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Biodun Oyebanji expressed gratitude to party leaders and members for their support, describing the moment as historic. He said the unity currently being witnessed within the APC in Ekiti is a testament to the collective will to move the state forward.

Oyebanji also urged citizens to take advantage of the forthcoming voter registration exercise, assuring them that the state government would work closely with relevant authorities to ensure the exercise is smooth and accessible for all eligible voters.

Political leaders in Ondo State who attended the rally included former Senator, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, the Director of Corporate Affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde (Abena), Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Seun Osamaye and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr. Smart Omodumbi.
