Lawyer calls for arrest of KWAM 1, files N500bn suit against FG 

CITIZENS COMPASS—Barrister Ayodele Ademiluyi, The Convener of Movement for Justice (MJ) and Secretary, the Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association (RAMINBA) on Thursday, called for the arrest and prosecution of Fuji singer, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal popularly known as KWAM 1 following his attempted disruption of a ValueJet aircraft.

The lawyer said he has instituted a fundamental rights action in public interest against the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Recall that the KWAM 1 was captured and allegedly disrupting an aircraft at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

At a virtual World Press Conference addressed by Ademiluyi, the lawyer said the suit became necessary following the nude video of a female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, which went viral on Monday capturing her altercation between some officials of Ibom Airlines at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State.

He said the suit , AYODELE ADEMILUYI v. PRESIDENT OF FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA & ORS , marked FHC/L/CS/1632/25, seeks for M500 Billion damages.

According to Ademiluyi, “We are mass-based social organizations concerned about social justice. We convene this Press Conference to address the developments particularly around the incidents of two citizens , to wit , King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal 1 (KWAM 1) and Comfort Emmason, who received different treatments from our legal system.

“While Nigerians were still battling with the bewildering episode of KWAM 1 walking the streets of the country, they were bombarded with viral videos of another passenger on a Uyo-Lagos flight on the aircraft of Ibom Air .

She was beaten , brutalized with her breasts brought out into the open , arrested , arraigned in Court and remanded at the Female Correctional Centre, Kirikiri.

“One major question that bothered our minds are :

1. What is her side of the story ?

2. ⁠Why the double standard treatment meted to her as against the “slap on the wrist” treatment given to KWAM 1?

“To know her side of the story and initiate our public interest legal representation in the matter , we undertook an early visit , the morning after the episode, 12th August, 2025 to pay Comfort Emmason a visit .

“Upon being allowed in, Mr. Ayodele Ademiluyi, Convener of Movement for Justice and Secretary, Radical Agenda Movement in the Nigerian Bar Association was granted access to meet Comfort Emmason. With a look still bearing the brunt of the emotional trauma of the day before , she quickly settled into a narration of her side of the story viz:

1. That she is an indigene of Akwa Ibom State from Ikot Abasi.

2. ⁠That she is a student of Heritage Polytechnic , Eket in the same Akwa Ibom State

3. ⁠That she boarded the Ibom Air plane on the fateful day for a flight from Uyo to Lagos , which in her estimation is between 30 to 40 minutes

4. ⁠That she decided to order through e-hailing Apps a cab to wait for her at Ikeja to take her to the Island , her base in Lagos .

5. ⁠That Ibom Air hostess , one Juliana approached her to put her phone on flight mode

6. ⁠That she decided to cancel the order and she put her phones on flight mode immediately

7. ⁠That she thought the matte had ended at that point .

8. ⁠That on arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport,she was blocked from disembarking by the same Juliana and the rest is the viral video that most Nigerians have seen.

9. ⁠She said what the dressing in the video that have gone viral is her inner dresssing and that she was putting on that fateful day,black leggings and white pullover with zip up to her neck .

“At this point of revelation, the interview with Comfort Emmason was abruptly brought to an end by officials of the Female Correctional Centre , who claimed they now needed a “clearance” from their Headquarters before Counsel can proceed with more questions. Mr. Ademiluyi was shown the door at this point and told to leave .

Naira against the Respondents , jointly and severally , including the Federal Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority , Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Ibom Air , King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal , ValueJet and the Nigerian Correctional Services that broke up Mr. Ademiluyi’ s interview with Comfort Emmason.

Why Keyamo’s window dressing “peace deal” does not resolve the issues

The Honourable Minister for Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN in a widely circulated statement

announced the withdrawal of charges by Ibom Air against Comfort Emmason and designated both KWAM 1 and herself as “Brand Ambassadors “ among many other compromises .

“However , the “peace deal” has not addressed the issue of the maintenance of balance of the scale of Justice as the person of KWAM 1 is being serenaded instead of being arrested , arraigned and prosecuted .

“While we welcome her release , we are of the firm resolve to continue with our public interest litigation and agitation. We are expressly calling for the arrest , arraignment and prosecution of King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal 1 as the growing belief that he is being let go because he is the “Official” Musician of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
