Personal belongings of missing man found in hotel

 

CITIZENS COMPASS—The personal belongings of a missing man, Olaloye Olatunde, have been found in a hotel room in Akure, Ondo State.

The deceased had lodged in the hotel for a seminar.

This has thrown his family and friends into confusion.

Citizens Compass gathered that Olatunde, had travelled from Owo area of the State on Sunday, August 24, 2025, to attend a child labour programme organised by Trace Project, Akure, in partnership with Charakids Foundation was held at Sunview Hotel, Alagbaka, Akure with about 56 participants in attendance.

According to family sources, Olatunde maintained contact with them between Monday and Wednesday of the programme while his Thursday activities could not be established and on Friday, the 29th, attempts to reach him were unsuccessful as he was incommunicado.

His wife later raised the alarm after unsuccessful calls to his cell phone.

The family members later visited Sunview Hotel only to discover that the personal belongings of the missing person were in one of the rooms as he was yet to check out.

It was learnt that his personal effects like clothes and shoes were intact.

The family was said to have taken a photograph of the abandoned items as a proof.

At press time, his whereabouts remained unclear as Trace Project, Charakids Foundation and Sunview Hotel had issued a statement.
