
CDHR reaffirms transparency, accountability at EFCC workshop
CITIZENS COMPASS—The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability in the State.
CDHR reaffirmed this at a day Capacity Building and Synergy Workshop for the leadership of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and journalists organised by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at its Zonal Office, Ikoyi area of the State.
The workshop, aimed at strengthening collaboration, fostering synergy, and building mutual trust between Anti-Graft institutions, CSOs, and the media in the ongoing fight against corruption and abuse of office in both public and private sectors.
Leading the CDHR delegation to the event was Comrade Debo Adeniran, National President of CDHR, accompanied by Comrade Wale Ojo, Chairman, CDHR Lagos Branch, alongside other senior members of the organization.
In his remarks, Comrade Adeniran emphasized the need for continuous partnership between CSOs and law enforcement agencies, noting that “only through joint institutional efforts can corruption be effectively curbed and transparency entrenched in governance.”
The workshop provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore strategies for promoting accountability and good governance through active civic engagement and investigative journalism.
The event marked a significant step toward establishing a collaborative institutional network between the EFCC and civil society groups, aimed at amplifying advocacy efforts and enhancing the impact of Anti-Corruption initiatives nationwide.
