Residents cry out over deteriorating Itele Road in Ogun
CITIZENS COMPASS— Residents of Itele in the Ado-Odo-Ota, Ogun State, have cried out to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, over the dilapidated condition of their road.
The residents took to the Ayobo-Ipaja Megida connect Facebook page to express frustration in the course of commuting on the road.
In a letter titled, “Open appeal to the Ogun State Government”, they said the Itele Road was a glorified death trap to road users.
“Dear Ogun State Government,
We, the people of Itele, are tired, stranded, and in pain. Every day, our mothers, children, traders, and workers risk their safety just to move through this road that connects thousands of lives.
Vehicles break down in deep mud.
Children trek through dirty water to school.
Expectant mothers and the elderly endure unimaginable stress.
This is not just an inconvenience — it’s a cry for help.
We are law-abiding citizens who believe in your leadership, but please, we can’t keep suffering like this. The road has become a symbol of neglect and hardship for an entire community that wants nothing more than to live and move with dignity.
We’re not asking for luxury — just accessibility.
We’re not asking for favours — just fairness.
Please, hear our voices. Come to our rescue.
Save our souls. Fix Itele Road.
