POCACOV Moses Oladimeji visits LSSTF Ayo Ogunsan in Lagos

CITIZENS COMPASS— The Lagos State chapter of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with key security stakeholders. This is as the Chairman of POCACOV Lagos, Dr. Moses Oladimeji paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, at the Fund’s Headquarters in Lagos, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
POCACOV, a preventive policing initiative of the Inspector General of Police, is dedicated to reducing the influence of cultism, drug abuse, and other related social vices through community engagement, sensitization, and youth-focused interventions. The initiative leverages workshops, seminars, school outreaches, and advocacy programs to empower communities with the information and tools required to identify, prevent, and tackle the growing threat of cult-related activities.
During the meeting, Dr. Oladimeji commended LSSTF for its pivotal role in enhancing security operations across Lagos through sustained support to the Police and other security agencies. He noted that POCACOV’s preventive approach aligns strongly with LSSTF’s mandate, particularly in fostering safer communities through strategic partnerships.
Dr. Ogunsan, in his response, praised POCACOV’s proactive model of crime prevention, describing it as a critical component in addressing the root causes of insecurity among young people. He emphasized that early intervention, community involvement, and sustained public sensitization are essential tools in mitigating cultism and similar threats.
As both leaders acknowledged the need of multi-stakeholder cooperation in curbing social vices, they reiterated that peace, security, law, and order remains the bedrock to iterate the place of Lagos as West Africa’s economic hub and Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre.
