CITIZENS COMPASS— One person was confirmed dead on Tuesday, in Lagos State, following a multiple accident around Maryland along the Ikorodu Road area of the State.
A High Capacity TATA Bus and mini bus popularly known as Korope were involved in the accident which occurred at the Independence Tunnel inward Maryland.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), confirmed the accident on its X Handle saying the accident claimed the life of the driver of the mini bus.
“A multiple road crash involving a TATA bus and a mini bus occurred at Independence Tunnel inward Maryland,” the agency said. “The incident resulted in the death of the mini bus driver.”
LASTMA said that some drums laden with contents rolled off the Independence Tunnel thereby obstructing free flow of traffic around the axis saying, “The transloading of the drums that fell on the road at the Independence Tunnel en route to Ojota is underway, and our personnel are strategically positioned to ensure that traffic is unhindered.”
