…As ex-husband releases old pictures

CITIZENS COMPASS— Mrs Olufunke Ogundele, the sister-in-law to the late Gospel singer, Bunmi Akinnaanu popularly known as Omije-Ojumi, has said that her family was not sad about the reaction of the late singer’s children towards their father.
Ogundele said the family understood that the children were grieving.
She disclosed this while reacting to some social media comments about what transpired between her family, the Adeboyes, during the burial of the late singer.
Citizens Compass reported that the late singer’s children, Jomiloju and her younger brother clashed with their father, Rotimi Adeoye who in a telephone conversation, was trying to respond to the allegations of abandonment by the children.
A social media influencer, Temitope Adegbenjo, posted the screenshot of Ogundele:s reaction on Friday.
It reads: “We are not sad about the reaction of the children. We know they have been brainwashed”- Mrs Ogundele.
In a comment under a post about the events surrounding the late Omije Ojumi singer (Bunmi Akinnaanu),’s funeral, one of the sisters-in-law has provided the reason for the viral altercation that occurred at the grave site.
Mrs Ogundele has this to say:
“We were not denied entrance to the service of songs. We even sat in the front row. They denied their father from talking to them after the program. Assuming they have allowed him talk to his children, the burial will have been smooth and perfect.
He also said he wanted to talk to the children before the commencement of the burial. They promised they would, but later think they are smart. They think as soon as they bring the corpse near the grave, we won’t be able to say anything.
He paid her dowry. He did white and court wedding. He can not be treated like he was treated. He made his point- She cannot be buried if he does not talk to the children. That was why they allowed him.
We are not sad about the reaction of the children. We know they have been brainwashed. But, I assure you, this is for a while.
That one that is doing as if she loves them, is not their mother’s relative. Just a UK friend of Bunmi. Fake love. Can she take care of the children?
Beloved Jomiloju and Williams King, calm down. Don’t stay on the bitterness your mum put into you. Unite with your father.”
Mrs Olufunke is the sister-in-law of the late Bunmi Akinnaanu (Omije Ojumi).

Following the clash, a Gospel singer, Dunni Olanrewaju popularly known as Opelope Anointing, has advised Nigerians to practice forgiveness regardless of the situation they find themselves in.
Olanrewaju on her social media handles, drove home her point from her personal experiences calling on people particularly Christians to forgive one another.
Meanwhile, Omije-Ojumi’s ex-husband, Adeoye, has shared some old pictures of his journey with the late singer as trending videos from the burial continue to draw public attention.
The group photographs captured the family of four in a happy moment.
Citizens Compass reported that the clash arose when the man tried to clarify allegations of abandonment levelled against him by his daughter, Jomiloju unfortunately this resulted in a clash.
The former husband was represented by her relatives.
A man dressed in White had informed that the former husband was not in town as of the time of the burial but would like to pay his last respect to Omije-Ojumi in a telephone conversation.
As soon as the call came in, it was put on speaker and the man’s relative instructed the children to pick the call and talk to their father but they declined and this resulted in a heated argument whereby one of the children openly vent his anger towards his father.
This was later resolved and the man was put on speaker to pay his last respect but he started a long conversation of how he contacted the children in school and their mother was annoyed the and arrested all the school teachers.
The phone conversation was later discontinued to save time.
One of the relatives was seen shouting, “your father likes you, your father likes you…”
According to the caller, “I’m your daddy and have been looking for you. If you remember, I called your school years back when you were at Front Liner.
“I spoke to you through the school line and told you not to tell your mummy because she wouldn’t allow me to talk to you. I didn’t know how she found out and she arrested all the teachers in the school.”
The telephone conversation was in response to an allegation by Jomiloju that her father abandoned her.
Jomiloju made the allegation on Wednesday, during the Service of Songs organised by the family of the late singer.
It was held along Akowonjo Road, Egbeda area of Lagos at 6p.m.
According to Jomiloju: Thank you everybody for coming here to help us with my mum. My mum wrote a song for me because I was a blessed child to her, “Oluwa, ebe ni no be o, k’arate ma f’omo mi daamu mi” (Lord, I beg you, do not allow the evil ones to trouble my life with my child and vise versa).
My mother was the best woman in the world, the only one that made me feel special. Ever since my father left me, he did not care, he did not call. Imagine now, he has started calling when he knows that someone has left.
My mother was the best, she registered us in the best school to ensure that we have solid education. I can be a gynecologist and my brother can be an actor. It is a pity that she is leaving so early and did not wait to eat the fruit of her labour.
Everyday, she will call me and say Jomiloju, promise me you will always make me proud and I always reply to her, Mummy, I promise you I will never disappoint you.
I didn’t expect any of these things to happen to my mum. Although she was saying it, she tells me to always plan for tomorrow. Whenever my mum says something, it always comes to pass, but I took it as something just little even when she was limping on that leg, I told her, it wasn’t normal. She kept on telling me, everything was going to be fine.
My mother basically lived for us, her kids. My mother was respectful and she doesn’t beg, she’s always working to give us her children the best but today, she’s dead, and we her kids will have to continue where she stopped.
And I promised you mummy, I will take care of your baby boy, Bobby, Williams King Adeoye and I will make sure he becomes who you have always wanted him to: a prayer warrior, a man, as in a responsible man.
Citizens Compass reported that the Service of Songs was held along Akowonjo Road, Egbeda, while the the interment was at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos State.
