Lecturer dies during visit to female student 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS— A Bida- based lecturer in Nigeria State, Abdulfatai Aiyede, has reportedly slumped during a visit to a 25-year-old female student in the state.

He thereafter died during medical treatment.

The 53-year-old Aiyede was said to have travelled to Minna, the abode of a nursing student, Stella Joseph, where he met his untimely death.

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the incident which occurred on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Spokesperson for the Command, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed this in a statement said the matter was reported at about 10 a.m. on the fateful day.
According to him, the lecturer was served food during the visit.

Not long after eating, Aiyede reportedly began to convulse before collapsing inside the house. He was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Minna for medical attention, but doctors later confirmed him dead.

The exact cause of his collapse has not yet been determined.
Abiodun disclosed that Stella Joseph has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation, stressing that her arrest does not automatically mean she is responsible.

He added that the lecturer’s body has been deposited for medical examination, while police await test results that will clarify the circumstances surrounding his death.

The command assured residents that investigations are oBida-basedthat updates will be provided as more details emerge on how the Nigerian lecturer slumped and died in the female student’s house.
