2027: Primate Ayodele rates Tinubu’s performance

CITIZENS COMPASS— Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Founder of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, yesterday, rated the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since he assumed power in 2023.

Primate Ayodele said Tinubu has performed well in several areas of his administration.

The cleric added that the President still needs to correct some of the shortcomings which were influenced by surrounding forces and internal opposition.

Speaking during his annual thanksgiving service in the Oke-Afa area of Lagos State, he called for religious harmony, good governance and generosity to the less privileged.

The cleric also commissioned a mosque which he named after Tinubu’s mother, late Abibat Mogaji.

Present at the occasion was Oba of Shasha Kingdom in Lagos, Oba Babatunde Akanbi Oluronbi, who praised the cleric for promoting interfaith unity.

The three-in-one event empowered widows, the less privileged and journalists with various items.

On why he constructed a mosque, Ayodele said this was divinely inspired explaining that it was named after Abibat Mogaji because of her humility and generosity.

He advised pastors to be truthful when advising leaders and warned that foreign powers, including the United States, cannot help Nigeria without national interest considerations.

He advocated the creation of a national thanksgiving day and also proposed a thanksgiving day for the press, appreciating the media for consistently reporting his prophecies whether right or wrong.

On governance, Ayodele said good government must care for citizens and remain close to the grassroots, noting that some leaders have demonstrated genuine concern for the people.

He said future elections would differ from previous ones, predicting Nigeria would adopt different measures concerning the electoral body ahead of 2027.

Commenting on Osun politics, he declared that except there is electoral manipulation, Governor Ademola Adeleke would win again, while advising governors generally to stay closer to the masses and perform effectively.

The cleric emphasized that the day’s activities showed the need for collaboration and unity among Nigerians, reiterating that religious harmony and giving to others remain the best path to peaceful coexistence.
