Pioneer council chairman dies in Lagos 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS— The pioneer Council Chairman of the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, Lagos State, Abiola Ajijola, is dead.

The death was announced on Sunday, by the incumbent council chairman, Dr Olalekan Olu Akindipe in a statement which reads:

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I received the news of the passing of Dr. Abiola Ajijola, the pioneer Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, whose demise occurred earlier today.

Dr. Ajijola was a man of uncommon simplicity, humility, and sincerity. He was an easy-going and approachable leader whose calm disposition, quiet strength, and genuine concern for people earned him the respect and admiration of many across our local government and beyond. As the first Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun, he laid the foundational stones of leadership and public service that history will forever remember.

His life was a reflection of grace, wisdom, and dedication to humanity. Beyond public office, he was a father figure, a bridge builder, and a man whose presence naturally brought peace and warmth into every space he occupied. His contributions to the growth and identity of our local government can never be forgotten.

On behalf of the Government and the good people of Ajeromi-Ifelodun, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, political associates, and everyone grieving this painful loss. This is indeed a sad moment for our local government, as we mourn one of the respected pillars of our history.

Though he has departed this earthly realm, the legacy of Dr. Abiola Ajijola will continue to live in the hearts of the people he served and inspired. We take solace in the impactful life he lived and the enduring memories he leaves behind.

May Almighty God grant his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may the gentle soul of Dr. Abiola Ajijola rest in perfect peace.
