CITIZENS COMPASS— A Non Governmental Organisation(NGO), FOS Autism Foundation has planned to intensify its advocacy campaign on autism and developmental challenges through sensitization as part of activities to mark the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.
The NGO founder, Osezusi Bolodeoku, disclosed her intention during her foundation’s visit to the Ipakodo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
She said one of the sensitisation plans include visits to inclusive and special schools across Ikorodu Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).
She added that the foundation would also visit the palace of the traditional ruler of Ipakodo, Oba Bashir Sotonwa (Sekumade of Ipakodo Kingdom).
Bolodeoku stressed that the outreach was aimed at creating awareness and encouraging parents, caregivers, and school authorities to participate in the foundation’s free Neuro-developmental screening and consultation scheduled for May 27, at Pistis Hub in Ikorodu.
“Education stakeholders and school administrators commended the foundation for its commitment to improving the lives of children with autism and special needs.
“Heads of schools also applauded the initiative and urged parents to take advantage of the free screening programme,” he said.
The Citizen Compass reported that the advocacy train visited schools including; Salvation Army Primary School Inclusive, Ikorodu; Abule Eko Community Primary School Inclusive, Ijede; and Igbogbo Methodist Primary School.
Bolodeoku, and her team also paid a courtesy visit to Oba Sotomiwa, who commended the organisation’s humanitarian service and pledged royal support for the successful hosting of the programme.
According to her, the event was expected to provide free developmental assessments, professional consultations, and support services for children, while promoting awareness, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals living with autism and related developmental conditions.
