CITIZENS COMPASS—The Lagos State chapter of the Yoruba Youth Council yesterday, condemned the abduction of students and teachers in the Ogbomosho area of Oyo State.

The Yoruba group also condemned the gruesome murder of one of the teachers, Mr Michael Oyedokun, by the abductors.

Yoruba Youth Council under the leadership of Omoluabi Barrister Deji Folorunso Esq condemned the babaruc act in a statement signed by its secretary, Lion Emmanuel Adebayo Efunkomaya.

He called on the government to fish out the culprits and use everything within its disposal to secure the release of the abductees.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday at Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, and Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Ogbomoso Yawota area in Oriire Local Government Area of the State.

According to the statement: The Yoruba Youth Council, Lagos State under the leadership of Omoluabi Barrister Deji Folorunso Esq strongly condemns the unfortunate kidnapping of innocent students and teachers in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.

This evil act is not only an attack on education and humanity, but also a direct assault on the peace, safety, and future of our Yoruba land. Our children are the pride of tomorrow, while our teachers remain the custodians of knowledge and moral values in society. Any act threatening their lives and freedom must be resisted collectively by all well-meaning Nigerians.

We therefore call on the Federal Government, Oyo State Government, security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and all relevant stakeholders to act swiftly and decisively towards the immediate rescue of the abducted students and teachers unharmed.

The Yoruba community is known for Omoluabi values, dignity, courage, and protection of life and property. We must not allow criminals and enemies of peace to turn our land into a place of fear and sorrow.

We stand in solidarity with the families of the victims, the people of Ogbomosho, and all affected communities at this difficult time.

May peace, justice, and security reign throughout Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.
