…Ready for election
CITIZENS COMPASS—The Osun State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) on Friday, suspended its campaign activities following the Saturday Gubernatorial election in the State.
Comrade Akinlade Semiu Babatunde, State Publicity Secretary of the party disclosed this in a statement.
It reads: In line with the relevant electoral guidelines and the directive of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), we wish to formally inform the good people of Osun State and all stakeholders in tomorrow’s Governorship Election that all campaign activities of the African Action Congress (AAC), Osun State Chapter, officially ended at 11:59 PM on Thursday, 14th August 2026.
Furthermore, we wish to state categorically that any individual or group parading any of our official logos, symbols, or identity in the name of campaign after this time should be disregarded and reported to the appropriate authorities.
Moreover, while we are not pleased with the militarization of the electoral process, we remain fully committed to upholding peaceful coexistence, democratic values, and the rule of law for the people of Osun State and Nigeria at large.
We thank the good people of Osun State for their support, solidarity, and encouragement throughout the campaign period. We urge everyone to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and vigilant as we approach the election.
