CITIZENS COMPASS— As political parties gear up for the 2027 general elections, a candidate for the Lagos Central Senatorial District, Yomi Idowu, has released an eight-point agenda if given the opportunity to serve in Lagos Central.
Idowu is vying for the position under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Unlike some politicians, Idowu said he would not abandon the ordinary people who give their time, energy, and support to make his candidature become a reality.
He disclosed this over the weekend, in a chat with Citizens Compass saying that community prosperity initiative would top his priority if elected as the Senatorial candidate for Lagos Central.
Also, he promised to expose people to available opportunities rather than handouts.
According to him: Every election, ordinary people give their time, energy, and support. After the elections, many are left struggling with poverty, unemployment, and hardship.
My vision is to establish a community cooperative union that empowers people through practical opportunities, shared resources, and collective growth.
Idowu itemised the agenda this: Affordable loans for small businesses, skills training and job creation, support for entrepreneurs and apprentices, community-based healthcare, scholarships and vocational education, affordable essential food items, savings and investment opportunities, support for the elderly, widows, and vulnerable families.
He said the agenda would be: A people-owned initiative to help families become self-reliant, create opportunities, and build lasting prosperity as politics should not begin and end with elections.
Let us build a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
