CITIZENS COMPASS—The Council Manager of Coker Aguda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs Adebimpe Akinola, is dead.
Her sudden death occurred in the late hours of Monday, September 29, 2025.
She was the fifth female council official to die in Lagos State within a space of two months.
Citizens Compass reports that Akinola was the Chairman of the Forum of Council Managers in the State before death came calling.
The Forum of Council Managers shared the news of her death on its official platform.
“With total submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing away of our dear Chairman, Mrs Adebimpe Akintola, this afternoon. Monday, 29th September, 2025.
“She was the council manager, Coker/ Aguda LCDA, until her death.”
She would be buried later in the day according to Islamic rites.
Among the burial activities was Janazah Prayer will be held at Al Kitab Mosque, Abosede Onamade Street, near Otunba’s House, Eleshin, after Zuhr Prayer around 1:00 PM, while the burial will be at the Equitable CDA Muslim Cemetery, Igbe Lara, by 2:00 pm.
Recall that barely two weeks after her inauguration, the Councillor representing Ward C in Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Oluwakemi Rufai, died on August 13, 2025.
On 18, 2025, another female elected councillor, Zainab Shotayo, representing r Ward C in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA, died.
On Saturday, September 20,2025, Similarly, the Vice Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Princess Oluremi Nutayi Ajose, died, while the elected councillor for Ward F in Somolu Local Government, Basirat Oluwakemi Mayabikan, died the following day, Sunday, 21 September 21, 2025.
Akinola’s death made it a total of five within two months.
