CITIZENS COMPASS —A two-storey building under construction partially collapsed on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Ikeja area of Lagos State.
The partial collapse occurred at 17, Olanrewaju Street, Alausa, Ikeja at about 13:03hours.
No life was lost to the incident which was confirmed by the Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Ms Adeseye Margaret in her updates.
According to her, “There has been a partial 2nd decking collapse of a two story building under construction having its supporting base give way.
” The collapse was reported at about 13:03hours on Wednesday, at 17, Olanrewaju Street, Alausa, Ikeja to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service headquarters.
” Eventually, the crew was able to rescue the situation and forestall a secondary incident as no one was trapped and all the construction workers on site escaped unhurt.
” The State government has condoned off the structure for proper investigation into the remote cause of the collapse.”
