Apapa Local Government empowers another batch of 300 indigent residents 

…As Sebanjo canvasses for Tinubu

 

CITIZENS COMPASS— Apapa Local Government in Lagos State under the leadership of Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Sebanjo,  on Thursday, organised the second phase of its empowerment programme to another batch of 300 indigent citizens.

The empowerment programme tagged, “Apapa Constituency Residence Palliative Economic Generic Data (ACREPEGED)”, was held at the Council’s secretariat where every beneficiary received the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000).

The Council widely known as the Port City Council, held the first phase of the empowerment programme on Friday, March 6, 2026 where 300 indigent citizens were empowered with N100,000 cash.

Citizens Compass reported that Sebanjo said the local government aimed to empower 4,000 indigent citizens before the end of her administration.

She said disbursement of funds was a bit delayed at the second phase due to challenges associated with bank verification, incorrect National Identity Number (NIN) which have been resolved.

She reiterated her administration’s commitment to ensure transparency while urging the electorate to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

She said: Today, Apapa Local Government is empowering another batch of 300 indigent residents being the second phase of the N100,000 palliative.

The committee incharge of this exercise has taken its time to verify all the bank details submitted to ensure the smooth running of the programme. Also, they have monitored and verified the details of the transactions to guarantee successful alerts and accountability.

In the education sector, we have distributed free books and school uniforms to indigent students with renovation of the school toilets among others.

The empowerment is to assist people and help make their lives better.

Let me seize this opportunity to urge our people to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2027 elections.

The beneficiaries applauded Sebanjo for a job welldone.
