CITIZENS COMPASS— The leadership of the Tajudeen Baruwa on Monday, took over the national secretariat of the National Union of Road and Transport Workers, (NURTW) in Abuja.

The takeover occurred in the early hours.

This means that the former Lagos State NURTW Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo has ceased to be the national president of the union.

It was learnt that Baruwa’s faction stormed the union’s headquarters and took possession of the secretariat.

NURTW members had elected MC Olumo as National President in November 2024.

However, the court ruled in favour of Baruwa when the dispute led to a lawsuit.

Despite the court ruling, MC Olumo has continued to operate as President.

In 2024, a Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had affirmed Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa as the authentic President of the National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW).
