Catholic priest burnt to death in Niger laid to rest

CITIZENS COMPASS– The remains of Reverend Father Isaac Achi of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, who was burnt to death by bandits in Niger State on Sunday, have been buried.

His remains were buried at the St Michael Catholic Church premises in Minna, the capital of Niger on Friday.

Bandits burnt the Catholic priest to death in the early hours of Sunday, during an attack on the Kafin Koro Community in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger State.

He hailed from Kaffin Koro and was celebrated as the first indigenous Catholic priest from Gbagyi/Koro land.

He had survived multiple attacks, including the Christmas Day bombing in Madalla, still in Niger State, in 2011.
