Court arraigns popular singer, ‘Portable’ , grants bail

 

CITIZENS COMPASS -A High Court sitting in Ifo, Ogun State, on Monday, April 3, 2023, arraigned Zazoo crooner, Habeeb Okikiola popularlly known as ‘Portable’

Recall that men of Ogun State Police Command had on Thursday, March 30, 2023 stormed Portable’s office and the singer was said to havr resisted arrest. He was subsequently taken into custody on Friday.

On Saturday, April 1, 2023, Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi said ‘Portable’ was likely to face over six charges apart from resisting arrest and injuring a policeman.

” He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Ota, who filed a petition to CP Ogun,” Adejobi tweeted.

” There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.

“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway.”

The court later granted the popular singer, bail.

It was gathered that Portable was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 and to provide two sureties with landed properties within the court vicinity.
