Cultists on rampage, kill kingpin in Ogun

 

CITIZENS COMPASS-Following a supremacy battle between two rival group of cultists have thrown some parts of Abeokuta, Ogun State, into panic following the killing of one of their kingpins Olumide Ifeoluwa popularly known as Tescom.

It was gathered that the deceased was shot dead by suspected members of Eiye cult group, at Ijeun Titun in Abeokuta, on Sunday.

The murder has thrown residents of Ijeun Titun and adjoining communities in anxiety as they nurse fears of reprisal attacks.

According to eye witnesses’ accounts, the cultists had invaded the community in an unmarked Toyota Corolla car, shooting sporadically before carrying out their mission.

A trending photograph on social media captured Ifeoluwa’s lifeless body in the pool of blood with severed head.

A resident, who pleaded anonymity, said the incident occurred at about 8.30p.m on Sunday, “Some boys came into the community with a Toyota Corolla and opened fire on the victim while he was breaking his fast with his friends. The incident happened at 8:30 pm on Sunday.

“Tension has engulfed the community as many residents have started leaving the area in fear of a reprisal attack.

“There is going to be a serious fight in Abeokuta and other areas of the state because that man killed was a popular Eiye member and a known political thug.

“There will be reprisal attacks from his gang members, but we are speaking to the police to step up security in Abeokuta and its environs.” 

Confirming the incident, spokesperson, Ogun State Police Command, Omotola Odutola,  said, “One Olumide Danish Ifeloluwa ‘Tescom’ was shot in the head by unidentified gunmen in an unmarked ash coloured Corolla at Somefun Ijeun Tuntun, on Sunday at 19:55hrs.”
