CITIZENS COMPASS— Popular actor-turned-politician, Desmond Elliot, has prostrated and sought forgiveness from Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chef of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the aftermath of the primary election in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.

Desmond was captured in a video from a recent meeting of the party.

He was seen going down on his knees in front of Gbajabiamila.

The Surulere politician admitted that he was misguided during the primary process and appealed to the APC leadership in Lagos to accept him back into the party’s political fold.

Elliot also said he accepted the outcome of the primary and pledged to renew his loyalty to the leadership of the party in Lagos, particularly the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).

The development comes months after the political relationship between Elliot and Gbajabiamila appeared to come under strain over the APC primary in Surulere Constituency I.

Gbajabiamila, who had previously played a major role in Elliot’s political rise, backed Barakat Odunuga-Bakare in the primary.

Elliot subsequently withdrew from the exercise, alleging intimidation and irregularities in the process.

The latest video appears to mark an attempt by the outgoing Lagos State House of Assembly member to mend fences with the APC leadership.

While pleading for forgiveness, Elliot also addressed speculation about his political allegiance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He denied ever working with former President Olusegun Obasanjo or Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde against President Tinubu or the APC.

Elliot insisted that he remained committed to the APC and its leadership in Lagos.
