Don’t incite violence in Ogun – Advisory Council

CITIZENS COMPASS– THE Ogun State Chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has advised candidates of different political parties that lost out in the March 18 Governorship election in the state, to seek redress before the Election Petition Tribunal, to challenge the outcome of the election.

The State Chairman of IPAC, Samson Okusanya, alongside other chairmen of political parties and candidates, said this while addressing journalists at a press conference, held on Friday, in Abeokuta.

Okusanya, who doubles as the State Chairman of People’s Redemption Party (PRP), however, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for its performance during the last Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly elections in the State.

He said, “In elections like this, one candidate will emerge as the winner and anyone that lost out should follow due process which is recognised by law to express their grievances if there is any at all, instead of creating unrest in the state and causing violence.

Recall that the incumbent governor, Dapo Abiodun won the gubernatorial election under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
